Walailak University Digital Innovation Center Conducts Workshop on Computer Hardware Fundamentals and Troubleshooting

On 14 January 2025, the Digital Innovation Center (DIC), Walailak University, organized a workshop entitled “Computer Hardware Fundamentals and Troubleshooting.” The program aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of computer architecture and essential maintenance skills, enabling them to diagnose and resolve basic hardware issues efficiently while minimizing downtime and reducing dependence on technical support services.Held at Computer Laboratory 2, the workshop offered a hands-on learning experience for 45 participants. One of the highlights of the training was the opportunity to examine the internal components of an HP Z2 Tower G9 Workstation powered by an Intel® Core™ i7-13700K processor. Through practical demonstrations and equipment inspection, participants gained valuable insights into the functions and interactions of key components, including processors, memory modules, and storage devices.
The training was led by Mr. Apichat Rakchob, Technical Officer, with support from Mr. Teerasak Dansakul and Mr. Sansern Iadklab as assistant instructors. Together, they delivered six key modules covering computer architecture and system components, in-depth understanding of the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and storage devices, hardware assembly techniques, troubleshooting methodologies for abnormal system behavior, preventive maintenance practices, and hands-on exercises based on real-world scenarios.
Beyond theoretical knowledge, the workshop emphasized practical problem-solving skills and encouraged participants to independently diagnose and address common hardware issues. These competencies are essential for improving operational efficiency, reducing the workload of IT support personnel, and ensuring continuity and reliability in daily operations.
Through continuous professional development initiatives such as this, the Digital Innovation Center remains committed to strengthening digital capabilities and fostering a resilient and technology-driven working environment in support of Walailak University’s digital transformation goals.
