The Digital Innovation Center (DIC), Walailak University, organized a hands-on training program entitled “How to Create Online Exams with WU Exam, Batch 4” and “Essay Auto-Grade with WU Exam, Batch 2” on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Computer Laboratory 2, Digital Innovation Building, Walailak University. The training was organized to support and prepare lecturers for conducting final examinations effectively through the WU Exam system on the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). A total of 12 lecturers who were interested in applying the system to their own examinations participated in the training.

The training featured lectures and practical demonstrations conducted by Ms. Chulaporn Phankamnoet, Computer System Analyst, Application Solutions Division, with Ms. Phatthanit Yothinwattanabamrung, General Administration Officer, Digital Skills and Learning Development Division, serving as an assistant trainer. The training covered fundamental aspects of the Moodle LMS, including an introduction to the system, login procedures, and course creation. Participants also learned how to create different types of examination questions, including multiple-choice, essay, matching, and ordering questions, with practical demonstrations provided for each question type. In addition, the training covered the creation of Question Banks, the organization of questions into Categories, preparation of files for importing questions, and the use of Regular Expressions (Regex) to establish grading criteria and improve the accuracy of automated grading for essay-type questions.

The training aimed to equip participating lecturers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to use various tools and functions of the WU Exam system confidently and effectively. It also focused on developing lecturers’ abilities to design examination questions that align with the intended learning outcomes of their courses. Throughout the session, participants had the opportunity to practice using the system in a real environment, ask questions, receive guidance from experienced trainers, complete practical assignments, summarize their learning, and evaluate the training. Through this hands-on learning experience, lecturers gained practical skills that can be applied to creating examinations, checking and grading responses, and exporting examination results and scores. The knowledge and skills gained from the training are expected to contribute to more efficient, standardized, and practical online examination management, while supporting Walailak University’s commitment to modernizing teaching and learning through digital technology.
