Walailak University Digital Technology Center organizes a workshop 

Cybersecurity in Everyday Life and Fraud Prevention Course

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Digital Technology Center organized a training course on cybersecurity in everyday life and fraud prevention for Walailak University students. Dr. Chirawat Wattanaphanich, Acting Deputy Director of the Digital Technology Center, presided over the opening ceremony of the training course on cybersecurity in everyday life and fraud prevention at Meeting Room 2, 2nd Floor, Computer Building, Walailak University. The event was honored by the team of expert engineers, Mr. Wisit Ruangphrom, from the Digital Technology Center, who served as a speaker. The course content consisted of the following 4 topics:
  1. “Cyber ​​​​threats” and “online fraud”: An overview of the latest situations occurring in Thailand
  2. Types of Cyber ​​Threats: Phishing, Malware/Ransomware, Deepfake, and Social Engineering
  3. Daily scams, popular scams in Thailand, points to watch for scammers’ behavior
  4. Prevention and response: Cyber ​​Hygiene principles: Verifying information before believing it, reporting incidents correctly
This course aims to equip participants with the knowledge, understanding, and proper compliance with cybersecurity guidelines. This will help prevent damage to themselves and enhance the university’s overall cybersecurity. They will also be aware of cyber threats that may arise in everyday life and learn how to effectively protect themselves from fraud or IT attacks. Twenty-four students registered for this onsite training.
