Digital Innovation Center Personnel Invited as Guest Speaker on Cyber Security for Nakhon Si Thammarat College of Fine Arts
The Digital Innovation Center (DIC) at Walailak University continues its mission of academic service and knowledge transfer in the field of Cyber Security. Mr. Wisit Ruangprom, an Engineer at the center, was honored by the Nakhon Si Thammarat College of Fine Arts (under the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute) to serve as a special guest speaker for the project: “Promotion and Development of Student Skills in Performing Arts, Music, and Visual Arts for the 21st Century.”
The training, titled “Cyber Shield: Digital Defense in the Modern Era,” took place on Tuesday, March 5, 2026, at the Sri Thammarat Meeting Room. The initiative aims to equip Thai youth with the necessary skills to adapt and live sustainably and safely in the digital age, protected from all forms of online threats.
Empowering the Next Generation of Artists
This “Cyber Shield” curriculum specifically targeted 157 students across various levels, including:
- Grade 7 students (Secondary 1)
- First-year Vocational Certificate students (Voc. Cert. 1)
- First-year Undergraduate students
These students, specializing in performing arts, music, and visual arts, are high-frequency users of digital media for creative work. The primary goal was to provide them with an accurate understanding of increasingly complex cyber threats and to foster responsible internet usage. The program emphasizes developing a positive attitude and proper behavior as good digital citizens, aligning with 21st-century human resource development goals that balance academic excellence with digital survival skills.
Expert-Led Knowledge Transfer
The Digital Innovation Center appointed Mr. Wisit Ruangprom, an engineer with direct expertise in cyber security, to lead the session. He was supported by Ms. Nirada Phetkhongthong and Ms. Phattranit Yothinwattanabumrung, General Administration Officers.
The training was designed to be engaging and measurable, utilizing Pre-tests and Post-tests to evaluate participants’ understanding. The curriculum covered:
- Awareness of surrounding cyber threats.
- Personal data protection.
- Media literacy.
Mrs. Sujittra Mina, Director of Nakhon Si Thammarat College of Fine Arts, presided over the opening ceremony. She expressed her confidence that the expertise provided by the Digital Innovation Center personnel would ensure the project achieves its highest goals, building a strong digital safety foundation for youth who will grow into the valuable artists of the future.
